A family wander to Hamnavoe Light

I'm still not up to an awful lot in terms of getting out and about due to health (largely medication side effects), but I did the first of a monthly blog for work The Shetland Outdoors Blog. For that blog I'll be looking at our core paths in Shetland and other outdoors related things. I'll also be doing a short videos like this...

Anyway, being such a nice day we went for a wander out to the Hamnavoe light as a family. It got cut out in the editing of that video (not my editing), but it's a pretty rocky clamber to get there. Take your time and you'll be fine though...

The seals were enjoying the sun too...

The sea on the western coast was fairly wild with plenty of big waves breaking over the rocky coast. Even Beren enjoyed a brief sit to take it in...

The light. Another opportunity to sit and admire the scenery...

On the way back I was inspired to make a little rock sculpture. The Hamnavoe Hare!

Still 5 weeks until I get my cardiac scan, who know's how long until I get the results and a way forward, but I'll try to get a few posts on here.

  1. Sorry to hear you still have ongoing health issues. We are South visiting family but back next week. You, Clare and Bergen are welcome to call by on the West side if you fancy a change of scenery. Kettle always on 😉

  2. Cheers for that. I haven't forgotten your offer. I've just not been out that much and not over there for a little while.
