The Kirn, Cumliewick Ness

A few weeks ago a 'youtuber' up here posted a video of a swim he did into 'The Kirn'  on Cumliewick Ness near Sandwick...

Being a sucker for caves and new places to explore I thought I'd best take a look, so I headed out from Broonies Taing around the coast...

As you might imagine the top of the cave is sensibly fenced off; get anywhere near the edge of that and you could easily slip in and well...

The entrance is pretty inviting and I reckon on a good day you could get down the slabs and have a shorter swim in to it...

Cumliewick Ness is just one of many wonderful spots for an easy stroll admiring the views and looking at the birds, seals and flowers.

Here's Sandwick in the distance...

And looking across to Noness, another fine headland...

Now where's that wetsuit...
