Roe Beach, Brei Wick

There's a pretty in accessible beach up near Brei Wick in Eshaness that's pretty ace if you've got a head for heights. Very reminiscent of Da Lang Ayre, but less of a walk to get to and more of a climb to get down.

Roe Beach...

The way down is via a burn at the eastern end of the beach. It's pretty steep with lots of loose and wet rock so be warned if you try to visit and choose a dry day too...

Looking down...

Looking back up...

It's well worth the effort going down, but to be fair the views from the top are probably more dramatic...

Though down on the beach you're in your own little world with rock stacks peppered about the bay...

For some reason I found a few of these crabs on the beach, dead, but yet un-eaten despite the wealth of seabirds on the cliffs. I wonder why...

It's a wonderful beach and guaranteed to be quiet, but if you do venture down please take care!
