Shetland Wildlife Explorers

Today Beren, Clare and I went to a meeting of The Shetland Wildlife Explorers at Da Gairdins I Sand. It's a wildlife group for kids run by the RSPB and today we were looking for signs of spring.

While we were waiting I spotted this handsome fella, he lives there and is pretty tame, tame enough to come and peck at my boots and legs!

The daffs were out...

And with a bit of searching we found this frog...

And a few tadpoles, but no frogspawn!

There were plenty of catkins on the willow too...

And other sings of spring.

Beren had a great time...

Including checking the pond for crocodiles. Good job he didn't find any!

There's a wonderful boaty house in one part of the gardens...

But sadly some thoughtless person has spoilt it for everyone...

Inbetween the showers it was a fine day...

Next meet is at Voxter woods, should be fun!
