First sail of the year!

With reasonable winds and no rain forecast Martin and I decided to take Märta out for her first sail of the year. A chance to shake her sails out and blow away some of our own cobwebs too...


A few hours out was more than enough in February, it was sunny but certainly not warm! Here's a rough idea of our route...




 Once near the end of Olna Firth the winds were up and gusting as forecast. Thankfully we'd put a new storm jib on expecting this and soon had 2 reefs in the mainsail to keep up happy sailors.



 What a lovely start tot he weekend...


On the way back the paparazzi were out to spot the rare sight of a boat sailing in Shetland in February...
