Fladdabister Lime Kilns

Not long ago I discovered a lovely spot down at Fladdabister. There are the remains of a couple of old lime kilns with a lovely steeply cut burn leading down from the road past them to a small shingle beach.

A lovely spot with views out over Bressay and banks of flowers...

I loved the little cause way that looked lovingly made at the south end of the beach. Sides of larger cobbles with an infill of small stone and a gap for the burn to pass by...

An overhanging cliff frames the northern end of the beach...

Somewhere worth a visit for a chilled out picnic...
