Of late...

...I've not been so active with the camera what with one thing and an other plus the pretty crazy weather we've had with snow, gales, rain and sun, often all in one day, may be even an hour!

Unfortunately our hopes for the collared doves on next doors satellite dish have come to nothing. I got home last night to see the nest empty and so it remains. I'm not sure if it's because of the sudden cold spell with gales and snow or some other factor, but it seems we won't be having any chicks yet. Lovely birds and atleast I can hear them cooing round abouts so the cats can't have got to them...

Taken through our less than clean windows...

Lovely birds and a lovely call.

Some of the summer birds are back too along with the new lambs. This Bonxie up on Fetlar was feasting on afterbirth while a few feet away the sheep was sniffing at it's newly born still born lamb. A sad sight and surely not too long before this Bonxie and others enjoy the lamb too.

A bit cuter was this seal hauled out on a rock in Catfirth soaking up the early morning sun.

And there's some pretty wild flowers coming out with primroses on the banks...

and thrift...

Earl's been enjoying some good runs, especially in a new sheep free park we've found on Burra where there are plenty of rabbits for him to chase, not that he's caught any yet.

And it seems we might have a reasonable spell of weather again; it was a lovely evening last night with pastel skies as the sun set..

Although a few minutes later it looked like Da Noup had fallen out with the rest of Foula...

Out and about I seem to be noticing more boat house here and there for some reason, must be a subconscious need to live in a hovel! Here's a great one at Da Gairdins I Sand...

Though I think this would be pretty cool too...

We've no specific plans for the weekend other than I'm off to meet a contractor up in Hillswick in a short while and there's a Sunday Tea on at Bigton tomorrow. If the weather stays fine I might take Beren out for a bivy tonight, now that will be interesting!!!
